SPLAT Family – Getting Started

  1. Getting started with SPLAT Family app
    1. Before you begin, here are the things you need to set up your account:
      1. Android 5.1 or later / iOS 11 or later. If your device runs on an unsupported OS version, you won’t be able to search for the app in the store.
      2. At least 100 MB (megabytes) of free phone storage.
      3. An active internet connection (for first-time setup and syncing of data).
      4. Sheet of paper from adviser/school, containing SPLAT Family app details.
      5. Your child’s Learner Reference Number (LRN)
        1. LRN can be found on your student’s previous report card.
        2. If you don’t have access to the previous report card, please reach out to your student’s current adviser for the LRN.
      6. Your one-time code for SPLAT. (This is included in the provided sheet of paper.)
    2. Downloading SPLAT Family app
      1. Open the Google PlayStore app for Android or the AppStore for iOS users.
      2. Search for SPLAT Family. (Why can’t I find the SPLAT app in Play Store / AppStore?)

      3. Tap SPLAT Family from the search results.
      4. Tap the ‘Install‘ button.
    3. Setting up your account in SPLAT Family app
      1. Open your SPLAT Family app.
      2. Select ‘Philippines‘ as your country.
      3. Select your preferred language.
      4. Tap ‘Start Enrollment
      5. Read the “Things you will need to join a school”.
      6. Tap ‘Continue‘.
      7. For LEARNERS
        1. Select ‘I am a learner/student‘.
        2. Enter your first and last name using the appropriate fields.
        3. Enter your 12-digit LRN.
        4. Enter the 4-digit code from the piece of paper provided by your adviser or school.
        5. Sign in using your preferred method:
          • Tap the Google icon to use your gmail account.
            • Select your preferred Google account.
          • Tap the Facebook icon to login using your Facebook account.
            • Tap ‘CONTINUE AS [FACEBOOK NAME]‘.
          • Tap ‘Create a SPLAT account‘ using an active email.
            • Enter your email address.
            • Create a password for your SPLAT account. NOTE Read the password requirements below.
            • Re-enter your password for confirmation.
            • Enter the verification code sent to your email.
            • Tap ‘Verify‘.
      8. For PARENTS / GUARDIANS
        1. Select ‘I am helping the learner with their education‘.
        2. Sign in using your preferred method:
          • Tap the Google icon to use your Google account.
            • Select your preferred Google account.
          • Tap the Facebook icon to login using your Facebook account.
            • Tap ‘CONTINUE AS [FACEBOOK NAME]‘.
          • Tap ‘Create a SPLAT account‘ using an active email.
            • Enter your email address.
            • Create a password for your SPLAT account. NOTE Read the password requirements below.
            • Re-enter your password for confirmation.
            • Enter the verification code sent to your email.
            • Tap ‘Verify‘.
        3. Read and agree to the ‘Terms of Use‘.
        4. Read the Data Privacy Policy.
        5. Under the policy, tap the check box ‘I grant RightSize…
        6. Tap the ‘Agree‘ button.
        7. Read the PIN requirements below and create your own PIN on the first field.
        8. Re-type your PIN in the second field.
        9. Tap ‘Continue‘.
  2. Managing your SPLAT Family account.
    1. Reset your account PIN
      1. Open your SPLAT Family app.
      2. Sign in to your account.
      3. Enter your current PIN.
      4. Tap the hamburger menu on the upper-right corner of your screen.
      5. Tap ‘CHANGE PIN‘ from the options.
      6. Enter your current PIN, then tap the ‘SUBMIT‘ button.
      7. Enter your new 4 to 6-digit PIN, then tap the ‘SUBMIT‘ button.
        1. SPLAT contains confidential student information and is very much in compliance with the Data Privacy Act, RA 10173 . Please avoid using PIN’s that are easy to compromise, like 0000 or 1234.
      8. Re-enter your new PIN, then tap the ‘SUBMIT’ button.
    2. Adding a learner into your account.
      1. In SPLAT, parents have the option to link more than 1 student to their account. This allows parents with multiple students, to monitor all their children with just one account.
        1. Open your SPLAT Family app.
        2. Sign in to your account.
        3. Enter your PIN.
        4. Tap the hamburger menu on the upper-right corner of your screen.
        5. Tap ‘Add learner‘ from the options.
        6. Enter the LRN of the new student and your one-time code for SPLAT.
          • LRN can be found on any previous report card or your may reach out to the adviser.
          • One-time code is in the piece of paper provided by the adviser.
        7. Select your relationship to the learner using the drop-down.
        8. Select whether or not the learner will use the same device for distance learning.
          • If the learner will use the same device as the parent or guardian, select ‘Yes‘.
          • If the learner has his/her own device, select ‘No‘.
        9. Once done, tap the ‘OK‘ button.
    3. Manually refresh your SPLAT Family app data.
      1. To make sure you’re looking at the accurate and recent data, you can perform a manual data sync while connected to the internet.
        1. Open your SPLAT Family app.
        2. Enter your PIN.
        3. Tap the hamburger menu on the upper-right corner of your screen.
        4. Tap ‘Sync Data‘ from the options and wait for the sync to complete
        5. Tap the leftmost icon (learner) on top of your screen to see updated data.
    4. Change the language used in your SPLAT Family app.
      1. Open your SPLAT Family app.
      2. Enter your PIN.
      3. Tap the hamburger menu on the upper-right corner of your screen.
      4. Tap ‘Change language‘ from the options.
      5. Select your preferred language from the list.
  3. FAQ’s / UNEXPECTED SCENARIOS
    1. What if your preferred Google account is not on the list?
      1. Scroll down to the bottom of the Google accounts list and tap the ‘Add another account‘ option.
      2. Enter the phone’s password / biometrics.
      3. Enter your Google account credentials.
      4. Tap the ‘I agree‘ button.
    2. Check your device’s Android version.
      1. Open your device’s ‘Settings‘ screen.
      2. Scroll all the way down to the bottom.
      3. Tap the ‘About phone‘ option.
      4. Tap ‘Software information‘.
    3. Check your Apple device’s iOS version.
      1. Open your device’s ‘Settings‘ screen.
